The Reader's Notebook is the place in which students can see themselves as readers and watch as they progress and grow. It's important for readers to see their progress and reflect to set new personal reading goals.

The Readers Notebook is a tool teachers can use to analyze student thinking and establish student goals based on the reader's work.

A Reader’s Notebook needs to be organized and set up for ease of use and students will begin to treasure their notebook as it is used within classroom instruction. They will love to see how it evolves over the course of the school year based on their reading and their learning.
