Description
These reading behavior checklists are based on Fountas and Pinnell's characteristics of readers at levels A through Z. Each checklist outlines expected behaviors for the reader at each level, a place to check off whether or not the student is demonstrating the behaviors, a list of strategies the student may be using (decoding strategies through level H, and comprehension strategies beginning at level I), and a place for notes.
These checklists are a great resource to use during guided reading groups, individual conferencing with a student or as an informal assessment in-between formal assessment periods. By following the listed behaviors these checklists can also help you to plan instruction for your guided groups as well as to reteach and/or extend skills for individual students. In addition when you complete these checklists for your students they will provide you with excellent evidence and invaluable information for RTI, parent/teacher conferences and report cards. These checklists really serve a wide variety of purposes for your literacy program!
