How Each Reading Challenge Works:

1. Set the Stage: Use the PowerPoint presentation to introduce the reading concept. These slides offer a structured approach to learning the weekly topic, with clear examples and helpful context that prepare students for the challenge.
2. Engage with the Story: Read the narrative story as a class. Each story places students in the middle of an exciting scenario connected to the reading concept, helping them engage with the material in a meaningful and memorable way.
3. Apply Reading Skills: Once the concept has been introduced and the story has been read, students are ready to dive into the reading challenge! These escape-room-style activities are designed to reinforce comprehension and analysis as students work together to solve puzzles. Students apply their knowledge of the week’s reading concept and use critical thinking to progress through the challenge.
4. Reveal the Conclusion: After students solve the final puzzle, they enter the password or passcode to unlock the story’s conclusion slides. These slides bring the narrative to a satisfying close while reviewing key insights from the challenge. Wrap up by discussing the answers as a class.
