Using choice boards is an effective (and easy prep) way to offer students choice when they are learning various reading skills. This reading choice boards resource is a bundle that includes 25 choice boards for the literature and informational standards for 5th Grade.

5th Grade Math Choice Boards

This reading choice boards BUNDLE includes both literature reading choice boards and informational reading choice boards.

Informational Reading Choice Boards

  • The informational set includes 13 choice boards for reading informational texts: 10 mini choice boards for each 5th grade common core informational standard and 3 choice boards written by domain with the standards grouped.

Literature Reading Choice Boards

  • The literature set includes 12 choice boards for reading fiction texts: 9 mini choice boards for each 5th grade Literature Standard and 3 choice boards written by domain with the standards grouped.
  • The set of choice boards has been updated to include stories to use with most of the tasks and a digital Google Slides version.

Each mini choice board contains 8 tasks for the students to complete with their independent reading book or their textbooks. Some of the choices require specific types of informational text for the students to read. This will help broaden a student’s variety of reading.

The choice boards could be used for homework, independent work, reading centers, or literacy stations. The reading choice boards would be perfect for a reader’s response center, a write about reading center, or just Reader’s Workshop.

Other Important Notes:

  • Available in two formats: with and without a colored background.
  • Answer key not included due to the nature of the resource.
  • Texts not included.
