Description

Reading comprehension is so important and Making Connections is a huge part of comprehension! These no prep graphic organizers can be used with any text and are a fantastic addition to your literature circles, guided reading groups or reading lessons. Students understand what they are reading or listening to best when they are making connections from their own lives - let this resource enhance your lessons with NO PREP printables that can be used with any text you are already using in your classroom.

Included are worksheets that talk about the 4 types of CONNECTIONS:

-text to self

-text to text

-text to world

-text to media

Also, students can explore and discover the difference between SURFACE CONNECTIONS and DEEP CONNECTIONS

Students can use any of these 8 activities (12 sheets) to demonstrate their connection skills to you as you build their comprehension skills. This package includes worksheets for both fiction and non-fiction text (use your own text, students use worksheets to demonstrate understanding).

. My students appreciated its simplicity and accessibility. They found the explanations straightforward, and the relatable examples helped them understand better. However, some wished for more interactive exercises. Overall, it's a good starting point for teaching these concepts.
