Are you teaching your students reading comprehension strategies? Use these 20 task cards with or without QR codes to help your students practice key reading strategies with any text they read. Each card has an explanation of the strategy and 2-3 tasks that require the application of that strategy.

Each reading task card has the option of a QR Code. Students will be able to use their I-pads/tablets to see a video explaining the strategy in focus prior to attempting the task card activity. You will need a QR Code Reader to access this feature.

Please note that the QR Code links provide access to YouTube videos and you may need to seek permission from your IT department to gain access. Links to the videos are also included in the download.

Suggested Use

Focus on one reading strategy at a time. Use the reading task card as a follow-up activity. Students have the option to access the video via the QR Code Card (on each task card) as a review prior to attempting the reading activity. Have students record their responses in their journals, Graphic Organizers or Interactive Notebook templates.
