Reading Fluency Practice
Share

Description

Students can use this short skit to increase their reading fluency in Spanish 1. Students choose their characters and read aloud in groups of 3-4. Teachers have the option of previewing some difficult vocabulary. However, the text contains several cognates and is an entertaining way to practice using vocabulary associated with likes and dislikes. Students are meant to read and reread the skit at least 3 times to promote fluency. This literacy building activity pairs well with a unit on the irregular verb GUSTAR and mini-lectures on Spanish Phonics. Students will be laughing and engaged, all while increasing their reading fluency!
