Reading Guide for Time Mag. article "Singing Changes Your Brain" - with article
Share

Description

This worksheet is intended to accompany an article from Time Magazine on the effects that choral singing has on your body and brain. It is essentially a "Close" worksheet designed to help you track students' absorption of content, keep students on task, and help them retain the information included in the article. I have added the article in a printable form with only one edit to make it student-appropriate (changed a reference to alcohol to be about chocolate).

This product had errors in the numbering of questions. It was not written for the middle school students in mind. I had to adapt the wording on the questions to fit my students. I believe that this product could have written and presented in a more professional way.

Thanks for catching the numbering error; I'll fix it right away. I don't know how I missed it or why nobody else pointed it out. As far as it being written "for the middle school students in mind"... I'm sorry my students weren't the students you had in mind, but I assure you, this WAS written with students in mind. They just weren't identical to your students. Nothing unprofessional about the product (unless you count the numbering error), it just isn't what you would have created if you had made it.

I used this a couple years ago and realized I forgot to review! It was a really interesting article and it was nice to have something to keep students focused!

Thanks! I'm glad it was useful. I used it during the first days of school to help them (hopefully) get excited about and value chorus.
