As a therapist, I have discovered that extending reading practice into true word comprehension can sometimes be challenging because many students have difficulty looking at words through a flexible lens. Multi-meaning words and shifts in word meaning across different contexts can be difficult to discuss because students often lack deep understanding of vocabulary beyond a single memorized definition.

This resource uses visual supports to help students create meaningful connections between words and how they can be flexibly used in different situations and contexts. The visuals encourage discussion, strengthen comprehension, and support deeper vocabulary development through explicit language instruction.

User will need a personal copy of the Basic Language Skills Manual and Reading Practices. These are not included in this file.

This file only includes Reading Practice Visuals for Concepts 1-25. Future concepts will be added as they are completed.
