Characterization Guide - This worksheet is designed to help students analyze characters. It is generic so it can be used with any text and is useful throughout the year. They can use it to think about different elements of a character, such as their appearance, thoughts/feelings, dialogue, actions, and response from others. These elements will help students identify character traits (i.e. bossy, caring, intimidating, etc.) and write a detailed description of the type of character it is. It is quick and easy to assess student understanding and can be graded and sent home to keep parents aware of the reading strategies you are teaching and practicing in class.
