After reading check for understanding activities for the following reading strategies: use the picture to read new words, use the picture and initial sound to read tricky words, learn and remember the story pattern to read from page to page. In addition there is an enrichment page for students to add a page to their book by using the story pattern and topic. Students can complete tasks independently, with partners or in groups. This work also assess students concepts of print knowledge, comprehension, and assists in strengthening sentence structure.
