Description

Support early learners as they practise reading and writing teen number names with this structured set of number worksheets for numbers 11–19. These printable number name worksheets are designed for Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade, providing clear, repeated practice with writing numbers in word form.

These no-prep number worksheets are perfect for introducing and reinforcing teen numbers, which can often be tricky for young learners. The pages work beautifully when laminated and used with whiteboard or dry-erase markers, making them ideal for maths centres, rotations, and repeated practice.

🔢 Why Teen Number Names Need Explicit Teaching

Teen numbers don’t follow consistent phonics rules, which means they need to be explicitly taught and memorised. I usually introduce these worksheets once students are confident with number order and counting, as they help bridge the gap between recognising numbers and confidently reading and writing number names.

Teaching number names alongside early literacy skills supports both maths and reading development — especially for students who benefit from visual and hands-on practice.

📄 What’s Included

Each number from 11 to 19 includes 4 worksheets, with each page focusing on a different way to practise and remember the number in word form. A cover sheet is also included for use at the front of maths books, during number units, or displayed on an interactive whiteboard or computer screen.
