Description

Here is  cool game that I play with my students to help with their CVC and phoneme practice.

Here’s how to play:

  • Line students up into 2 teams (I do boys vs. girls. They love that!)
  • Show students the pictures.
  • Say It! Tap It! (on fingers) Write It!
  • The first student who writes it correctly on the board wins!

I’ve added some ‘brain breaks’ (exercises, dance) that you can throw into the mix. You can copy/paste a GIF (moving clipart) from Google to add for the dances.

Materials Needed: (1 for each team)
2 White Boards

2 Erasers

2 Markers

I hope that your students enjoy this game as much as mine do!

I have not used this as a race game, yet, but rather just for practice writing CVC words. I have many students who have not yet grasped how to encode, so I don't want to put them on the spot in a race until their confidence builds! However, all students have LOVED these activities and being able to have a visual to go with the words they hear and write! Thank you!
