WEEK LONG PROJECT! Students love this project, very engaging fun and applicable to real life. Students will use percents, interest formula, and budgeting to create their "real life" simulated project. They will search for jobs, calculate their monthly and yearly salary. They will be using their salary to budget their living situation (house, apartment, condo etc), their transportation, food, and other expenses.
They will use percent of a number, I=prt, and basic mathematical operations to calculate their monthly and yearly payments.
This project is great for students because they realize how difficult it is to budget and how often they use math in everyday life.
