★ ★ ★ Numerous multi-level questions on the Real Number System!★ ★ ★

Use this product in stations, as a math game, starter problems, as test prep, mini lessons, quiz, homework, classwork, and more! A Total of 92 Questions on The Real Number System in this product!
This is a great way to engage students in solving 24 problems with each recording sheet on the real number system - GREAT for TEST PREP. I found students to become more engaged when they feel that they can choose one problem at a time to complete. You may also utilize the tasks as a spiral review or starters by cutting a page in half and allowing students to solve just those problems.... there are options/suggestions listed in the product.

Common Core 8.NS.A.1 • 8.NS.A.2
TEKS Standard 8.2(B)
TEKS 6.2 (A) Classify whole numbers, integers, and rational numbers using a visual representation such as Venn diagram to describe relationships between sets of numbers

Please Note: Your students will need to know how to convert decimals to fractions, fractions to decimals, and how to convert square roots prior to completing these Tasks. This product is designed to reinforce the Real Number System - number classifications and how to convert the numbers. One suggestion is to model solving a few problems with students first prior to them completing the challenge.

Know that numbers that are not rational are called irrational. Understand informally that every number has a decimal expansion; for rational numbers show that the decimal expansion repeats eventually, and convert a decimal expansion which repeats eventually into a rational number.
Use rational approximations of irrational numbers to compare the size of irrational numbers, locate them approximately on a number line diagram, and estimate the value of expressions (e.g., π²). For example, by truncating the decimal expansion of √2, show that √2 is between 1 and 2, then between 1.4 and 1.5, and explain how to continue on to get better approximations.
