These tasks are a great way to extend student's critical thinking skills and prepare them for standardized testing - whether it is CAT tests, EOGs, or another Exam Format, the questions are designed to prepare students for tests and exams. Please see the preview file.

This is a great way to engage students in solving 24 problems with each recording sheet on the real number system - GREAT for TEST PREP. I found students to become more engaged when they feel that they can choose one problem at a time to complete. You may also utilize the tasks as a spiral review or starters by cutting a page in half and allowing students to solve just those problems.... there are options/suggestions listed in the product.

Know that numbers that are not rational are called irrational. Understand informally that every number has a decimal expansion; for rational numbers show that the decimal expansion repeats eventually, and convert a decimal expansion which repeats eventually into a rational number.
CCSS8.NS.A.2
Use rational approximations of irrational numbers to compare the size of irrational numbers, locate them approximately on a number line diagram, and estimate the value of expressions (e.g., π²). For example, by truncating the decimal expansion of √2, show that √2 is between 1 and 2, then between 1.4 and 1.5, and explain how to continue on to get better approximations.
