Description
This is a set of 32 cards containing one real number on each.
The purpose of the cards is to use them all unit long during your Real Numbers unit. The cards have multiple uses and teacher directions on their usage are included. Cards include decimals, fractions, square roots, integers and pi. A few will need simplification such as square root of 100, etc.
Here are some suggestions for use:
- Stand at the door and show one card at a time and ask each student whether the number you are showing them is real or not. If they get it right, they can come in. If they don't, then they go to the end of the line and try again.
- Give each student a number and have them sort themselves into rational or irrational, positive or negative, fraction or non-fraction, etc.
- Finally, at the end of the unit, the cards can be used for ordering the numbers.
The usefulness of these cards is limited only by your imagination.
