This is the first unit from my Pre-Algebra Full Curriculum. It includes guided notes pages, homework/practice assignments, quizzes, and a unit study guide & test.

Two versions of the pdf are included: one that uses the TI-30XIIS calculator in the examples, and another that uses the TI-30XS MultiView calculator in examples. You may use one or the other, or both, in helping your students learn to use their scientific calculators.

Topics covered in this unit include operations involving integers, absolute value, and fractions/decimals; integer exponents; perfect squares and square roots; scientific notation; classifying real numbers; comparing/ordering real numbers; locating real numbers on a number line; properties of real numbers; and the closure property with subsets of real numbers.
