Description
This unit it to help lower grades (K-2) understand the steps they need to follow in a research project. They are modeled after the Big6 steps, but with a cooking theme and easier to understand terms. I’ve included posters of each of the 6 steps, as well as a poster on how to do an easy Works Cited page. There is also a practice works cited page, and icons to use as demonstration in making the “recipe” for research.
Updated 3/10/15 to include copies of the posters WITH pictures of the cooking icons so students can remember the steps.
Updated again on 2/8/16 to include color coded copies (in rainbow order) of the steps to make it easier to see the order and how each step is different.

I hope you find this useful!

This was great to use as we started learning how to do research in second grade. Posters are bright and colorful!
I found this useful to help break down how students can research as they find it hard in second grade. Thanks for this!
Absolutely love this! Perfect way to introduce research to firsties.
I like how these posters break down the research process for primary students. Helped my students understand the process better and gave me teaching points.
I am using this right now for my extra classes as a ongoing research project. Very helpful!
I have turned these into digital Google Slides that I can use in the library AND for distance learning if necessary.
Great Resource!
