Our Rectangular Arrays lesson plan teaches students to recognize rows and columns in a rectangular array and generate an addition sentence to express the sum of the array. Students are asked to create their own addition sentences with the row and column addends to reinforce the equality of the sums. Students are also asked to individually complete given practice problems in order to demonstrate their understanding of the lesson.
