Description

Practice for Dictionary, Thesaurus, Atlas, Encyclopedia, and Internet!!

Students can play detective and practice identifying the correct reference materials to use in different scenarios, including the Dictionary, Thesaurus, Atlas, Encyclopedia, and Internet. There are 2 scenarios for each reference source and it works best as a scavenger hunt. You can station the different reference sources around the classroom for students to explore and find the answers. You need the "K" and "P" volumes of an encyclopedia, as well as M, B, F, and N if you want some distractors.

Reference materials are not the most exciting topic to teach. This detective activity was engaging and the students enjoyed it.
