Description

This is a PowerPoint that can be used as notes for instruction on using tables, graphs, and equations to relate quantities. Examples use tables, graphs, and or equations to have students identify the pattern and variables, in order to write an equation and solve. This presentation includes vocabulary along with directions, and visual examples to be used as class notes or a scaffolded assignment. These notes are structured with a do now, title page with lesson objective followed by examples and real-world questions. This presentation also has a mid way checkpoint to help students quickly self assess as they progress through the lesson. These notes align with the EnVisions Math textbook for topic 4, lesson 10 but can be used separately as well!

Once you have downloaded this product, you will be able to completely customize your presentation to fit your needs. Depending on your technology platform, the words shown in the thumbnails above do not look perfectly aligned, that is because I make everything in my google drive then export it to Power Point prior to uploading here. I can assure you, once downloaded this file, the words and slides are well structured and organized! (Although, you can customize to your liking anyway!)

Understand solving an equation or inequality as a process of answering a question: which values from a specified set, if any, make the equation or inequality true? Use substitution to determine whether a given number in a specified set makes an equation or inequality true.
Use variables to represent numbers and write expressions when solving a real-world or mathematical problem; understand that a variable can represent an unknown number, or, depending on the purpose at hand, any number in a specified set.
Solve real-world and mathematical problems by writing and solving equations of the form 𝘹 + 𝘱 = 𝘲 and 𝘱𝘹 = 𝘲 for cases in which 𝘱, 𝘲 and 𝘹 are all nonnegative rational numbers.
