"My students loved making these fish and learning about right angles. Right angles are not in our curriculum but I teach them every year and this resource is GOLD! The kids were so engaged making these. I love the recording sheet too! Thank you!"

"When learning and reviewing the different types of angles, these fishes were a great way to visualize what a right angle looked like, and how to compare it to an obtuse or acute angle. Very useful and students loved them! "

Description

Combine an introductory lesson on right angles with this fun Right Angle Fish mathtivity, combining math and creativity.

This project in also included in a Mathtivity Bundle

This packet will provide you with template pieces to make a cute 'right angle fish' to help your students explore and understand angles.

They will make a right angle (lips of the fish) and glue it onto their fish (plain or spotted fish options included).

They will then take their fish for a swim around the classroom and find objects that fit exactly into the fish's mouth and record them on their recording page. They will also record objects that are both larger and smaller than a right angle.

The recording page (ocean) can then be displayed with their fish as a topper.

These pieces can be printed on color paper, or print them on white paper and ask your students to shade them.

Students can record their findings on the optional recording page.
