Description

This is a great lesson for Social Sciences, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Debate, Intermediate-Level English Language Acquisition, Sociology or Business English that can be stretched out over two or three 60-minute lessons or used for a single 60-minute class period depending on your students' ability. The lesson starts with a discussion about violence in entertainment. Then students are front-loaded with useful vocabulary before watching a Youtube video clip exhibiting a giant fighting robot that holds two people inside and a company's plan to make a giant robot fighting league. The lesson includes listening comprehension and discussion questions as well as a breakdown of useful phrases and expressions used in the interview. This was originally designed for business professionals, especially in the field of engineering, AI and robotics but can be great for university, high school or middle school students.

I used this as part of my emergency sub plans. It's a great resource and there are many activities to keep the kids busy if I'm out.
