This Rocketry Unit Bundle includes:

• Two google slides presentations covering how rockets work, and the history of rocketry. (Includes excellent videos, warm up questions, images, and more.)
• A reading from NASA about how Rockets work with a 10 question assessment.
• Rocketry Vocabulary Research
• Rocketry Slides Scavenger Hunt (Students search through the slides to answer the questions, like a fun study guide.)
• Rocketry Unit Final Quiz
• STEM Rocket Project - Students use the following supplies to build a rocket! Scissors, Straws, Pencil, Tape, and Paper. Students complete the packet as the design and test their rocket. (A huge hit every year!)
• A movie guide worksheet for the Film "October Sky" with a link to watch the movie. (Rated PG, 1999, Starring Jake Gyllenhaal. PLOT: A high school student and son of a coal miner, he dreams to become a rocket scientist during the space race era. Against all odds he achieves it!)

This Rocketry Unit is always a hit with my students. They love all the content in the slides and the inspiring videos about space and technology. The project is a ton of fun and students get competitive and look forward to coming to class everyday to improve their paper rocket design. And the movie is excellent and really resonates with students.

This Unit typically takes me 2 weeks depending on how much time we spend on the rocket STEM project. You could definitely modify the unit to fit one week or stretch it to three weeks if you wanted to!
