Help your students understand place value and number sense using these rainbow-colored work mats as a versatile learning center. Student simply get a work mat, roll a number, build the number with base ten blocks and then write the number they created. This center could be used with games like dice/card war, or other place value games, too. Every student can have a different colored mat. These centers are easy to make and use. Just run them off on ledger-sized paper (11X17) paper and laminate for an easy wipe-off surface that can be used again and again.
