I used this as a homework project for a student who is reading above grade level. He read a fiction/nonfiction book pair about amusement parks and then, as a follow up, designed his own thrill ride using this resource. I did add my own journal pages so he was able to write about and reflect on his creation in written format. He had a blast and it challenged his writing and creative thinking!
