Description

Two Truths & a Lie — Rotational Angles in Standard Position (10 Stations, Self-Checking!)

Strengthen your students’ understanding of rotational angles in standard position with this engaging Two Truths & a Lie station activity! Students move through 10 stations, each containing three statements—two true and one false—about a given angle or situation. Their task: identify the lie AND correct it, deepening comprehension and strengthening reasoning skills.

This activity helps students master key concepts such as quadrant placement, positive and negative coterminal angles, reference angles, and finding angles in standard position when given a point on the terminal side (all in degrees).

What’s Included

10 station cards covering essential rotational-angle skills:

  • Determining the quadrant of a terminal side
  • Identifying positive & negative coterminal angles
  • Finding reference angles in all quadrants
  • Using a point on the terminal side to determine an angle in standard position

Self-checking format

  • Answers print on the back of each station card
  • Great for independent or partner work
  • No grading required—students get immediate feedback

Why This Activity Works

⭐ Promotes error analysis and conceptual reasoning
⭐ Encourages precise language and justification
⭐ Builds confidence with rotational angles
⭐ Perfect for stations, warm-ups, scavenger-style rotations, or review days
⭐ Works well for Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, or Trig courses
