Description

Rounding Project Based Learning Assessment. A quick, fun, and creative way to wrap up your Rounding unit. With this PBL assessment, students are asked to help the Mayor of their city with the annual Toy Drive.

Students are responsible for choosing toys for the Mayor to purchase. They have a budget of $1,000. As they choose the toys, they need to round each price (created without decimals) to the nearest 10 and 100. I have created a table where students will record their answers all to one location. Also, they will need to decide if they stayed under the $1,000 budget using mathematical reasoning and their understanding of rounding.

The list of toys (pictures provided) has examples of 2 and 3-digit numbers that students will round to the nearest 10 and 100.

This PBL is for Third Grade but could also be used for upper grade students that are struggling with rounding 2 and 3-digit numbers to the nearest 10 and 100.
