Description

This is a set of rounding math secret code scavenger hunts that give students a fun way to practice rounding numbers. These activities involve rounding 2- and 3-digit numbers to the nearest 10 and 100.

WHAT'S INCLUDED?

There are 2 separate scavenger hunts in this resource to give students plenty of practice with rounding.

  • Set A: donut theme
  • Set B: cupcake theme

Each set includes:

  • 15 rounding numbers cards
  • Secret code recording sheet
  • Answer key

Digital Version

The secret code recording sheets have been prepared for digital use in Easel. Answer boxes are already in place for students to type their answers. Using the digital option will let you save paper and ink by not having to print a worksheet for each child.

HOW TO USE THIS RESOURCE

To play, scatter the cards around the room. When students find a card, they solve by rounding the number and fill in the letter on their code sheet. If all numbers are rounded correctly, a secret message will be revealed!

These activities can also be used in your math centers instead of as a scavenger hunt. Instructions included in the file.

Preparing for a sub? Instead of busy work, include one of these scavenger hunts in your sub file! It's super easy to set up and the substitute will be free to move around the room to assist students.
