Using 7th Grade Collections and Scholastic Scope, students will read three articles and complete either an argumentative or informative SBA style Performance Task. This assignment includes directions, part one, and part two of a performance task. Part one includes a claim assessment and two short answer questions. Part two is the essay portion - there are two options: argumentative or informative essays. This task mimics a traditional SBA style performance task. Stories from Collection 4 include From Flesh & Blood So Cheap, and The Story of the Triangle Factory Fire. From Scholastic Scope, the short article Out of the Flames is used.
