Description

  • This Card sort activity will give students a structure for meaningful math talk. Assigning this activity to a group of two or three allows students to explain their reasoning and assess the reasoning of others. 

  • I print the cards out on colored stock paper. Have students cut them out. You may laminate them for subsequent use. 

  • I suggest students take turns matching the cards. As they place the card, they should explain why they have matched it with the given card.

  •  Select the cards to use depending on what you want to practice with your students depending on the level of your students.
