Description
This purchase comes with three handouts for school-based SLPs to give to teachers. These pages were designed to foster communication between SLPs and teachers, as well as to inform and organize. You get 3 handouts: What is an SLP?, Vocal Hygiene Info, and Scheduling Helper.
Handout #1
The first handout explains what a speech-language pathologist does and encourages collaboration between teachers and SLPs to identify students in need of support. It goes into detail about the specific areas of treatment that SLPs are responsible for in the schools (articulation, spoken language, literacy, stuttering, AAC, social communication, voice, and cognition).
Handout #2
The second handout contains information for preventing vocal fold damage for teachers (who are an at-risk group). This handout provides information about measures that teachers can take to protect their vocal health (eg. stay hydrated, avoid throat clearing, etc.).
Handout #3
The last handout is a therapy schedule to help teachers keep students' speech therapy appointments organized.
