Description

This SMART Goals document includes student worksheets to help students create their own SMART goals for academic, behavioral, or social success. SMART goals are written so that students can specifically target what areas they need to change, identify HOW they can make improvements, and set a deadline for when the goal should be met. These can also be helpful in supporting growth mindset instruction in your classroom.

Many times when asked to make a goal, students are vague and don't set specifics. This makes achieving goals very difficult. With SMART goals, students know exactly what they need to do to meet their goal. Sample SMART goals are also provided for academic, behavior, social, and health areas.

Who Should Use

This document can be used with any any or grade level, though it is specifically aimed at middle and high school students. It would be a great way for students to write their own goals at the beginning of the school year or for their New Year's Resolutions. Further, goal setting is a critical component to advisory periods at the middle and high school level.
