SOLVE IT! This 10-page math packet with a December theme is the perfect way to get students on-task right off. Use the problems to sharpen problem-solving skills and reinforce computation skills. The packet includes notes to the teacher, 5 pages of math problems, and a key for the teacher. Some problems are multi-step and each page includes interesting illustrations that grab student attention. Use 1 page a day for a great opening activity! I have students complete the problems individually and then meet with a partner to discuss and share solutions, capped by whole-group sharing of the best methods to solve each problem.
