Description
This is a data sheet I designed to set goals with my students. Once you have the SE data back from the first round of STAAR testing, you can fill this chart out to help your students understand what their weaknesses and strengths are while preparing for the retake.
Optionally, you could fill this out yourself, if it helps you visualize the data better, though I think it's more powerful to do with the students. They really care about how they did on each kind of question.
I prefer to give them their data in fractions rather than percents. Fractions help them understand that a 0/1 on one skill is not so big a weakness a 1/5 on another which in turn helps them understand better what they need to study and practice. It makes for meaningful conversations and helps students take ownership of their learning.
There's room at the bottom for goal setting, which is also powerful students who need a boost after finding out they failed.
Good luck to you and your students! :)
