STEM / Engineering Challenge Task Cards

This resource contains a 5 different 'build a structure' challenges, along with a blank slide for you to insert your own challenge.

This resource is in Powerpoint format so the tasks can be displayed in your classroom but can also be printed and laminated for your students to have at their tables.

These challenges are flexible and can be completed with a wide variety of materials (lollipop sticks and pegs, lego, straws, blue-tac and matchsticks etc.)

The challenges are:

-Build the tallest structure possible that can stand on its own

-Build the strongest structure possible

-Build a structure containing triangles

-Build a structure that is wider at the top than the bottom

-Build a structure that only has two points of contact with your work-surface.

-Blank side for your own challenges.
