Description

My 5th-grade STEM class LOVED this project! It is hard to find a project that keeps kids engaged for more than one classroom. This would be perfect in a middle school setting.

In this lesson, students will learn what a prototype is and why it’s important in the world of STEM. They will explore how prototypes allow inventors and engineers to test out ideas before making final versions. Students will have the opportunity to plan and build their own prototype invention using recycled materials. Through brainstorming, building, and sharing, students will use creativity and problem-solving to bring their ideas to life.

This pdf includes instructions as well as a printable resource for your students.
