Description
This resource is a great performance assessment for students to demonstrate their knowledge on one of the concepts of light: reflection. Using two mirrors which are supplied by the teacher (see how to get mirrors for cheap in the teacher notes), students will design and create their own periscope using the criteria in their homework page. The teacher just needs to explain the assignment and criteria which is on the student homework assignment and distribute the mirrors. On the day the periscope is due, students will give a mini-presentation on their periscope and demonstrate the working periscope. A rubric is also included for easy grading. This is a great homework assignment and assessment that my students enjoyed!

My students loved working on and completing this project! They learned so much about light energy and were able to create a working periscope! They were so excited when they presented their working periscope and were able to read the word at the back of the room!
Unfortunately, I am changing grade levels for this upcoming school year so I will not get to use this resource but it looks interesting and engaging and I was really looking forward to using it!
Good
Challenging, but a lot of fun!
This was a lot of fun and challenging!
This is an awesome project, thank you! My students loved it and it was extremely engaging for them.
I don't think I'll get a chance to use it this year, but just from reading over it, I really liked the activity.
I can't wait this amazing resource this year!
