You have just opened your very own Ice Cream Shop and are now attempting to perfect your own homemade recipe! You will make your very own ice cream completely from scratch using nothing but science and a few basic ingredients! You will be following a set of procedures while manipulating a few variables to see how they affect the ice cream making process.
Technology/Art - Ice Cream Shop - Part 2: Menu Design
You are now a graphic designer hired to design a menu for your Ice Cream Shop from Part 1. Consider the brand you chose and make sure to select ice cream products and design elements for your menu that continue to fit with that brand. Be sure to include categories (shakes, sundaes, soft serve, flavors, toppings, etc) names, descriptions, prices, and pictures! The better something looks, the more likely it is to be bought!
Engineering - Whatever Floats Your Boat
You are a Naval Architect (boat builder) who was given the task of building the world’s smallest, strongest and most creative boat. You will use your knowledge of how buoyancy, density, gravity, and displacement affect floatation to strategically test 3 different boat designs before choosing the best one to use for creating your final boat masterpiece.
Math - Ice Cream Shop - Part 1: Business Plan
You are a successful business owner opening up a new Ice Cream Shop. You need to create a business plan and figure out how much ice cream you would have to sell to be profitable. You will have to decide on a unique name for your shop, a brand that will set your shop apart from competitors and attract your targeted customer market, create a catchy slogan, choose a location, and figure out how much ice cream you will have to sell to pay all your bills and be profitable!
Business - Shark Tank
Today you are an entrepreneur Preparing to go on Shark Tank and pitch your new product to the Sharks. You need to create a unique product and a business proposal (Pitch) that will persuade the Sharks to invest in your business. As you create your project, think about the episode clips of Shark Tank from the previous pages. What products did the sharks invest in? What products did the sharks reject? Why? Keep that in mind as you plan.
