Instructions:

TEACHERS: Students will research word roots, prefixes and suffixes associated with the topic. The research can be completed online, as individual or group work as well as an extension activity for more advanced students. It will work as well with distance learning as it does on paper in person. Different versions of this template are included in the purchase along with activity ideas.

STUDENTS: Your teacher will have more specific instructions for completing this activity.The basic instructions are to research the meaning of the prefixes, suffixes and roots of the topic and give examples of each being used in a word (preferably associated with the topic). (Use Internet search terms such as “root word meaning”.)

Students will use/ gain an understanding of the importance of ROOT WORDS, PREFIXES, SUFFIXES AND WORD ORIGINS. Language Arts (English) classes as well as science can benefit from this CROSS-CURRICULAR ACTIVITY.
