Description

This interactive lesson will engage your students as they learn and practice calculating sales tax! This is unique as it is in LESSON format. Students first review how to complete this skill, then will show you what they know with extra practice. There is also a place for students to self-reflect on their work.

How can you use this LESSON?

  • Use to teach a full group lesson. Project and teach your students in a large group!
  • In math rotations. Have students complete this as part of a math rotation to reinforce or introduce skills.
  • For students who are absent. Introduce or re-teach this concept for students who are absent.
  • For distance learning. Assign to students and have them complete.

  • 11 slides explaining how to calculate sales tax & giving students the opportunity to practice and reflect

Students engage by typing answers, checking their own work and reflecting on how they feel about the skill. They can then turn this into you for review and data collection. Please check out the video preview for a full view of what this activity includes and looks like!

This is shared as a google compatible link- you will copy this into your own google drive where you can assign and share with students. Note that the questions and text are not editable- only the space where the students can answer / show their work can be changed!

My students loved using this resource for work! They were engaged in the resources and had no trouble getting it started. It didn't take much time to prepare the resources so it was easy for me t use in time crunch, I adapted a little bit for my emerging bilingual students and have them skip some of the challenging questions.
