Description

Help Bruce the one eared bunny save Easter uses basic shape (square, rectangle, triangle & circle) and shape word recognition to interactively track the missing supplies and find his friends for an Easter party. Finding the missing supplies portion has the shape word and you must find those shapes among other shapes. Hidden underneath are movable supplies that can be placed in the spots at the bottom of the page. The second portion is finding Bruce's friends. On each page, there is one friend hidden under one of four shape graphics. Once found, you drag the correct shape word to the answer spot to let Bruce know where they were hidden. Bonus printable coloring page at the end. Covers partial Common Core K.G.A.1-2 (only 4 basic shapes used). This is also an alternative assignment (curriculum) based off the Dynamic Learning Map (Common Core M.EE.2.G.1).

I have been teaching my grades 3-5 autism students, with significant intellectual disabilities, about the different names, attributes of shapes and how changing orientation does not change attributes and/or name of a shape. This was an extremely fun activity, that my students found really engaging. My students of various computer levels, were able to use their touch-screen computers to be able to click and drag on the objects in lieu of using a mouse/touchpad. They especially liked (as indicated by pointing, smiles, vocalizations) the different cartoon characters that were used in this activity.
