"I love using this STEM activity at the beginning of the year for team building and setting expectations for team work for the year. "

Description

This is a great team building activity for the beginning of the year (or anytime)! The students must work together to save Fred (a gummy worm) from his capsized boat (a cup) using only paperclips.

The PowerPoint tells the short story about Fred and gives directions about how to save him. The PowerPoint is 11 slides long and includes the story, the directions, and a picture to help students set up the experiment. I usually use this as my first Science activity. Students really enjoy this activity!

Please also see the LAB SHEET in my store which goes with this lesson.
