Scaffolded OpenSciEd Physics P.1 Lesson 4 - Ranking Energy Sources
Share

Description

This is a graphic organizer for OpenSciEd Physics Unit 1 Lesson 4, Ranking Energy Sources.

This is my first year implementing OpenSciEd. My classes have a wide range of abilities and they are not used to this style of learning. I've been recreating some hand outs to limit the barrage of questions as students try to complete these assignments.

For this assignment, I laminated the Energy Cards (from OpenSciEd) and had students work in groups of 3. The used the cards and compiled all the information on this one page. It show a small energy transfer model.

Additionally I had my students calculate the power input and waste based on the power output and % efficiency. There is an optional flip side of the paper with a low level review of percents.
