This project was so much fun! I ended up with scaled models of some pretty amazing stuff! The gigantic green crayola marker made doing this project so worth it! The kids really enjoyed it!
I did this activity in my resource Math Models class. It was great being able to see how the math in the classroom connects to things int he real world. My students were really proud of their projects and being able to demonstrate their knowledge of scale factor.

Perfect for what my students needed! I love to do project based assessment instead of straight up tests and quizzes.
One of my student's favorite projects of the year. They had some really fun ideas.
The students loved this hands-on project and we loved displaying it around our school! It brought the concept of scale to life for them.
