Description
Brief Notes on Scatter Plot Quick Notes
My notes are scaffold for student learning to slowly lose the reigns of learning into students' hands. I first teach different orientations of Scatter Plots so that students know what to expect and how to describe them. For these orientations I then teach vocab including Line of Best Fit. While I teach about line of best fit, I only approach it with estimation, not with calculation.
I teach students with brief notes that allot more time in class for students to practice material. I give an assignment on the material so students can use the majority of class time experiencing and mastering problems on their own. I aim for 10-15 minutes of notes and 20 minutes of assignment. I provide time for entrance and exit tickets additional to the lesson and notes. I also developed a worksheet to go with these notes.
My students are behind in math skills and have time and time again flunked out of previous math classes or have been expelled. I aim to use short concise notes to get students back on track and build up their math skills.
