Description
Brief Notes on Scatter Plots WS
This worksheet is dedicated to providing students with an understanding of scatter plots, how to analyze the advantages of these plots, and how they can be categorized. There are 5 scatter plot problems, each of which ask for description of the correlation and if it is a causation. I have guided notes on how to graph them sold separately from the worksheet. Depending on the class, I might do one problem with kids to get them started, but I find many of my students pick up on these graphs quickly. Generally, the greater struggle comes from students having to learn how to make their own scaling of the axis.
My students are behind in math skills and have time and time again flunked out of previous math classes or have been expelled. I aim to use short concise notes to get students back on track and build up their math skills.
I have notes to go along with this lesson. The notes are designed to take about 10-20 minutes of class time to encourage students to pick up on the lesson and get straight to the assignment. I believe that math is a skill-based subject, and students do best practicing the skills as opposed to be lecturing about them.
