Description

Students want control of their time, this is what they are used to when at home. This schedule was co-created by my 4th grader, 6th grader and me (teacher for 23 years). Together we created a manageable list that the kids/students could track their progress. Just like adults, kids want to be trusted, kids want to have choice and kids want to have positive connections. When kids know what to do they feel safe, able and confident! As a mother and now teacher, practicing distance learning from home, this tool has relieved my guilt by shifting appropriate responsibility to the children.

For younger children you may reduce the minutes to 15 minutes for activities for children in Preschool through 1 grade. 2nd graders and beyond can use the 30 minutes. For older kids in high school, you can increase on-line minutes to 45-60 minutes.
