Description

This is a science experiment that can be used for science fair. It is the complete scientific method with ideas for presentation. It focuses on the concept of sink/float. It has been used in my kindergarten classroom. It includes graphs, result sheets and extension ideas. I originally wrote this up (and a few others) as a presentation for a Core Knowledge conference, but it got cancelled. My hope was to share ideas of how to conduct a valid science project while integrating the theme with our language arts/ social study units. Thank-you for your interest, Jill Halliday

My Kindergarten students loved this activity! They loved getting to do all the hands on experimenting. We did not have a lot of success getting boats to float, but the kids loved it and learned a little bit from each trial and error.
