Description

Looking for a way to get your students engaged with science in the real world? Look no further!!

This doc is all you need to have students actually looking for how science is used in the real world. Bonus - Students actually LEARN something new since they get to pick the article & science topic!

Each month students must find a current article, write a summary & provide some facts & questions related to the article. I tell my students about this at the very beginning of the year & have them complete it on their own time.

I have included some links to kid friendly websites to help students get started. There is also a rubric for easy-peasy grading!

Students can submit right on GC. You could also have volunteers share their work for extra credit if you have the time.

If you have any concerns or suggestions to better this resource, please feel free to email me at sciencesquad25@gmail.com - I'm always looking for ways to better my materials :)
